ITV3 have announced that a brand new reality show will be hitting our screens this autumn. Titled “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me A Happy Meal!” the show will feature eight individuals, all of whom can loosely be considered celebrities, each battling it out to see who can persuade most members of the public to agree to purchase a mcdonalds meal for them. The tentative line-up of celebrities includes Keith Chegwin, Casey Lee Ann Jolley, Morag Vorderman (sister of Carol), Bongleburt Doppelganger, Jonathan Dimbleby, Yvette Longsbury (Doppelganger’s ninth ex-wife), and the African-American blues singer Old Mammie Jones. The eighth contestant is yet to be revealed. “I’m A Celebrity, Get Me A Happy Meal!” Is that really what this country needs? And will it revive itv’s flagging fortunes? And will watching a load of failed stars desperately trying to get people to buy them a mcdonald’s meal really be compelling viewing for the series’ whole eight-week run? Only time will tell.
