Out of Sight is an Academy Award-nominated movie in 1998 directed by Steven Soderbergh that is based on the novel of the same name. Starring with George Clooney as a career criminal — Jack Foley, Jennifer Lopez as federal agent — Karen Sisco, Ving Rhames as the hero’s partner– Buddy Bragg and Don Cheadle as a vicious criminal — Maurice Miller, this movie is totally filled with action, romance and justice.

As the film begins, Jack Foley, the most successful bank robber in the country busts out of jail, planning to meet up with his buddies and heads off to do one final score to retire on. Unfortunately, Jack gets into the federal agent Karen Sisco’s car during his escape from a Florida prison. After he completes his getaway, Sisco chases Foley while he and his friends – his right-hand man, Bragg and Glenn (Steve Zahn) – work their way north to Bloomfield Hills, a wealthy northern suburb of Detroit. There they plan to pay a visit to disreputable businessman Ripley (Albert Brooks), who foolishly blabbered to them years before about a diamond hoard at his mansion.

In the meanwhile, Maurice is also planning to hit up Ripley’s mansion with his crew as well. It’s the fact that Maurice spent time in jail with Jack and Ripley and so he too knew about the diamond stash. Sisco joins in the action along with her hero’s team and begins to find that her attraction towards Jack is getting in the way of her moral obligations as a U.S. marshal. Will Sisco turn Jack in, or risk it all for love?

Knowing is a 2009 American science fiction film directed by Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage as John Koestler, a widowed MIT astrophysicist who lives in wooded seclusion with his young son, Caleb (Chandler Canterbury).

The story begins, revealing an event occurred in 1958. As an event of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule, but one mysterious girl named Lucinda fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead.

Fifty years later, Professor John Koestler (Nicolas Cage) makes the startling discovery from a sheet of paper which is retrieved out of a time capsule that was sealed at his son’s elementary school decades ago. To his surprise, the encoded message predicts every major disaster of the past fifty years. When he refers the history of disasters, he comes to know that the sheet matches accurately with the dates, death tolls and subjects of every major disaster. Coping with the recent loss of his wife, John must atleast save his son, Caleb from any such disasters. So he tries to put up a strong front for the sake of his young son.

Unfortunately, there are three calamities that have yet to unfold, and John realizes that the last disaster on the code is the end of the world when one of the Sun’s solar flares will burn the Earth. So he must try to solve the mystery of the numbers before many more lives are lost. Did John save the world?
